On Jan. 19, the Atlantic City man was arrested and charged after stabbing another man.
At 5:50 p.m., patrol officers were dispatched to the 100 block of north Tennessee Avenue in reference to a male that was stabbed. Officers Julian Monsalve and Riley Flynn arrived to find the 25-year-old victim from Atlantic City suffering from a stab wound to his upper chest and bleeding heavily. The knife believed to have been used in the stabbing was recovered at the scene. The victim was subsequently transported by ambulance to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Division, for treatment of the injury sustained in the attack.
After speaking to the victim and witnesses, the officers obtained a description of the suspect and determined he ran towards an apartment building in the 1300 block of Baltic Avenue after the stabbing. Witnesses also advised officers that the male lives in the apartment building. Officers responded to the apartment building and began searching for the suspect. At approximately 6:30 p.m., the suspect, Angel Gomez-Santiago, attempted to enter the apartment building and walk past the officers. Officer Nickolas Cardani and Anthony Nastasi recognized the suspect and immediately placed him in custody without incident.
